Definition of alternate sort

alternate sort
1.  Also known as rotate sort or criss/cross.  If sorting is desired and two different orientation of the same paper are loaded (8½  x 11 and 11 x 8½) the paper will be fed from both of these paper sources so that each set of collated copies is complete and stacked 90 degrees from the one below and above it.
