1.  Methods of speeding up fax communications by compressing files. After a certain amount of information is scanned, it is analyzed and transmitted in a format that requires less bits of information, thus speeding it up. The most common methods are Modified Huffman (MR), Modified Reed (MR) and Huffman Reed (HR).
