Sharp MX-B401 The Sharp MX-B401 is a standard copier, printer, and scanner with optional fax features. Buyers Laboratory Inc gave the MX-B401 the “Outstanding Mid-Size Workgroup Monochrome MFP” award in 2009. When the toner (MX-B40NT1) yield was tested it exceeded the estimated 10,000 page yield (at 5 percent coverage). Documents are dispersed at a brisk rate of 40 pages-per-minute; first copies are output in as little as 8 seconds.

The touch-screen on the Sharp MX-B401 is customizable so that frequently used functions can be accessed from the main screen. The machine can multitask allowing the user to program jobs while others are running. Paper storage stems from the 500-sheet standard tray and 100-sheet bypass tray; this can be increased through multiple paper trays that can be purchased to reach the 2,100 page maximum capacity.

Automatic duplexing is an excellent feature that comes on the Sharp MX-B401. It can reduce unnecessary paper consumption and condense hardcopy storage. Single-sided sheets are input and then converted to double-sided output. Memory is started off with 512 MB RAM and is upgradable to a whopping 1.5 GB RAM—giving you the power needed to complete complex projects.
